Getting Started
This guide will help you get started quickly using MiniTrack to turn your iPhone/iPad into a wireless trackpad and keyboard for your Mac.
System Requirements
Before using MiniTrack, ensure your devices meet the following requirements:
iOS/iPadOS Device
- System Version: iOS 14.0 or later
- Device: iPhone or iPad
- Hardware: Device with Bluetooth 5.0 or later support
Mac Computer
- System Version: macOS 11.0 or later
- Hardware: Device with Bluetooth 5.0 or later support
- Permissions: Need to grant accessibility permission in system settings
Installation Steps
Step 1: Install and Run Application on Mac
- Download MiniTrack for Mac from the App Store or official website
- Open the Applications folder and find MiniTrack
- Double-click to open the application
On first run, macOS may request accessibility permission. This is necessary for the application to control cursor and keyboard input.
Step 2: Grant macOS Permissions
When the Mac application starts for the first time:
- A permission request dialog will appear
- Click "Open System Preferences" or go to: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
- Find MiniTrack in the left sidebar
- Click the checkbox on the right to enable permissions
- Close the settings window, and the application will automatically start broadcasting
Step 3: Connect on iOS/iPad
- Download MiniTrack application on your iPhone/iPad from the App Store
- Open the application
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled: Settings → Bluetooth and toggle on
- The application will automatically scan for available devices
- Select your Mac from the list
- Wait for connection to establish (usually 2-5 seconds)
- After successful connection, the application automatically switches to trackpad mode
If you cannot find your Mac:
- Make sure MiniTrack is running on your Mac
- Both devices have Bluetooth enabled
- Both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network (recommended)
- Distance is within 10 meters
Basic Operations
Trackpad Mode
After successful connection, your iOS/iPad screen displays a trackpad interface. Here are the basic gestures:

Advanced gestures require corresponding gesture shortcuts configured on macOS. If advanced gestures don't work, check System Preferences → Trackpad.
Virtual Keyboard
There is a Keyboard button at the top of the trackpad interface. Click it to switch to virtual keyboard mode.
Virtual keyboard includes:
- Letter and number keyboard
- Numeric keypad
- Special characters (by long-pressing letter keys)
- Common shortcut keys (Command, Control, Option, Shift)
- Arrow keys
In keyboard mode, a mini trackpad appears at the bottom of the screen for quick switching between keyboard and trackpad.
When using the keyboard:
- Tap the Command, Control, Option or Shift key
- Tap your desired main key
- Or tap the main key while holding the modifier key
Configuring the Application
Sensitivity Settings
The application provides sensitivity adjustment options to suit your usage habits:
- Open application settings
- Find the Sensitivity option
- Adjust the cursor speed and scroll speed sliders
- Preview the effect in real time
If you feel the cursor moves too fast or too slow, gradually adjust the sensitivity value until you find the most comfortable setting.
Theme Settings
The application supports dark and light modes:
- Open application settings
- Find the Appearance option
- Choose Dark or Light theme
- Or select Follow System to automatically adapt to system theme
Language Settings
The application supports Chinese and English interfaces:
- Open application settings
- Find the Language option
- Select your preferred language
- The application will immediately switch the interface language
Quick Functions
The application provides quick application launch buttons for convenient access to frequently used applications:
- Safari - Open browser
- Finder - Open file manager
- Terminal - Open terminal
- Other applications - Many system applications support quick launch
Simply click the corresponding button to immediately launch the application.
Common Troubleshooting
Connection Issues
Q: Application cannot find my Mac
A: Try the following solutions:
- Make sure MiniTrack is running on your Mac
- Restart Bluetooth on both devices
- Ensure both devices are within 10 meters
- Try reopening the application or restarting devices
Q: Connection established but cannot control Mac
A: Check the following:
- Confirm Mac application has accessibility permission granted (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility)
- Mac application is running in the background and not minimized
- Try reconnecting
Feature Issues
Q: Gestures not working
A:
- Make sure you're performing the correct gesture
- Check that gestures are enabled in application settings
- Some advanced gestures require corresponding configuration in macOS system settings
Q: Cursor movement not smooth
A:
- Lower the cursor speed in sensitivity settings
- Check Bluetooth connection quality (move closer to your Mac)
- Turn off other Bluetooth devices to reduce interference
